Week one: Duddleya Brittonii

Hi all! I thought I would start this blog to keep those of you not on Instagram updated on the progress at the Botanic Garden. When I am at the garden Thursday- Saturday, I add to my ‘Instagram Stories’ some photos, videos, and chatter about the pieces I am working on. I then post about the progress and the final outcome.
If you didn’t catch it, week(end) one spent at the Garden was all about the Duddleya Britonni, or it’s more common name, the California live forever. I was captivated by this succulent (shocker) because of its architecture but also by the way it seems to glow in the garden, with an almost iridescent blue. This, I learned, is due to the fact it has a waxy coating which refracts light.
Here are a few pictures.
